Drop-in sessions on campus with City of York Council and Citizens Advice

We have arranged for staff from the City of York Council and Citizens Advice York to come on campus for the day on 10 October and 21 November 2019 to assist University of York staff and students and their families1 with applications to the EU Settlement Scheme.

Individuals will need to complete their own applications, but City of York Council will scan and verify ID and Citizens Advice York will offer full help and support to applicants, including help to complete the application form and advice on issues which may arise during the application process. A representative from HR will also be present to answer any queries.

There is no need to book an appointment and staff, students and family members are all able to drop-in.

When are the events taking place?

The event on 10 October will be held from 10am until 4pm in BS/104 Meeting Room (Tree House) in the Berrick Saul Building.

The event on 21 November will be held from 9.30am until 3.30pm in LMB/030 and LMB/031 on Campus East.

What should I bring to the drop-in session?

For those wishing to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme, you must bring with you:

  • a valid mobile telephone number (you will be sent a SMS text generated PIN number during the appointment in order to proceed)
  • a valid email address
  • a valid biometric passport (EU citizens)
  • a biometric residence card (non-EU citizen family members)

Please note: this service does not currently accept national identity cards or non-biometric passports.

Devices will be available on the day for scanning ID, however we would also like to remind you that you are able to borrow an Android phone from IT Services for the purpose of making an application at any time.
