Minimum increase of 1.7%, with more for the lowest paid

The national pay award, which will provide York employees with a salary uplift of between 1.7% and 2.3%, will be paid in September.

The pay award is effective from 1 August 2017. Due to the timing of the agreement of the award, it will be implemented in September. Staff will receive back pay for August at the same time.

Larger increases for the lower paid

The award offers larger increases for staff at the lower end of the pay scale.

At York, this means that staff in grades 1, 2 and 3 will benefit from increases above the minimum 1.7%:

Professorial pay

Although the pay award is negotiated in relation to the national 50-point pay spine that covers our grades 1—8, the University will also apply the 1.7% increase to the professorial spine points.
