Changes to annual leave years

At the moment, most departments' run their annual leave year from October to September, while some use January to December.

From August 2026, the new University-wide leave year will run from August to July. To make this change possible, your 2025-26 leave year will be shorter than usual so that everyone can start the 2026-27 leave year at the same time.
