In a Nutshell is designed to support individuals by increasing their awareness and understanding of key activities going on at an institutional level.

These one hour sessions are run frequently across the year and give staff the chance to hear from experts from the University on their field of expertise.

Examples of topics that the sessions will cover include

  • External drivers that influence key strategic decisions eg Research excellence framework (REF), Teaching Excellent Framework (TEF) etc
  • New policy or legislation that will affect the way we work eg General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • New processes that will bring about efficiency and effectiveness gains eg Procurement
