Early Career Researchers

Activities:

ECR Workshops and Training

The ECR Forum runs workshops each semester, which provide training that is relevant to ECRs. The topics of these vary, but range from careers (both academic and outside of academia), paper writing, use of social media. Email: ecr-workshops-and-training-group@york.ac.uk

Meet the speaker

The Department organises seminars weekly throughout term-time. For some of these seminars, the ECR Forum organises a 'meet the speaker' session prior to these talks, in which ECRs can meet the presenter and ask questions (about their research, their career trajectory, or related). Email: meet-the-speaker-group@york.ac.uk

ECR Social Events

The ECR Forum organises social events throughout the year so that ECRs have an opportunity to relax and spend time with each other in a more informal setting.

ECR Outreach

The ECR Forum is heavily involved in public outreach: sharing our science with members of the general public. In particular, we organise 'PsychYork', part of the York Festival of Ideas. Email: ecr-outreach-group@york.ac.uk
