St Nicholas Fields Science Trail

In partnership, the University of York has worked closely with St Nicholas Fields in Tang Hall to create a short nature trail which explores science and nature. The trail is open to the general public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and wends its way around the whole of St Nicholas Fields’ nature reserve, taking in the Butterfly Walk, the Dragon Stones and the beck which runs through the site.

To get the most out of trail, participants are advised to bring a smart phone with a QR code reader, which will enable visitors to access a range of webpages explaining a little more about some of the key features of the 24 acre green space.

The trail is an ideal way for families to find out more about this thriving local organisation which promotes a number of green and sustainability projects within York. There is also a wide array of flora and fauna to be found around the site which you may encounter when undertaking the trail:
