Eleanor of Aquitaine is often described with superlatives: an exemplary and exceptional individual. As Queen of England, she was at the centre of the Angevin court. As ruler of Aquitaine, she demonstrated intelligence and skill. With Henry II, they became the most powerful political couple in Medieval Europe. This one-day course will explore the life of Eleanor of Aquitaine in connection with her multiple roles in Aquitaine, France and England.
