Discover the amazing power of language(s) (with Kamishibai and origami) at the York Festival of Ideas 2024

Join Géraldine Enjelvin, Yumi Nixon and Ulrike Wray for an introduction to French, German, Japanese and Spanish for beginners through:

  • Kamishibai (a traditional Japanese form of storytelling with picture cards)
  • storytelling (based on a Chinese tale)

You will learn:

  • words in French, German, Japanese and Spanish
  • how to make paper figures, using origami

This York Festival of Ideas event (presented by York Cares and the University of York’s Department of Language and Linguistic Science) is perfect for children aged 7 to 11 and their families.
