I completed my MA in Women’s Studies (Humanities) in the Centre in 2004: my dissertation was entitled ‘The Sexual Cyborg and the Technological Woman: An exploration of the possibilities of the metaphysical cyborg’ and considered the trope of the cyborg as a rhetorically useful metaphor for feminists.

I was lucky enough to secure AHRC funding to pursue doctoral research in 2008 and returned to the Centre to pursue my interests in blogging and feminist theory. I am focussing on how feminism is presented and promulgated within the feminist blogosphere, particularly how these online feminisms might relate to ‘third wave feminism(s)’ and ‘postfeminism’.
