David Morgan
David Morgan is now formally retired having taught Sociology at Manchester
University for over thirty years. He still has a part -time "Professor 2"
post at NTNU, Trondheim and a visiting Professorship at Keele as well as
his Emeritus position at Manchester. His main interests have been in
family sociology and the sociology of men and masculinities with
"auto/biography" as a strong third interest. Recent publications of
interest include Family Connections (Polity, 1996) and contributions to
Hobson, B(Ed) Making Men Into Fathers: Men, Masculinities and the Social
Politics of Fatherhood (Cambridge, 2002). He has just completed an ESRC
project (with Clare Holdsworth) into the process of leaving the parental
home. He is a former President of the British Sociological Association.
