Course of the Day800 Years of York Taught entirely online over 10 weeks, this innovative and interactive course is designed to introduce you to the history of York telling the stories of the people that have made this city the multi-faceted experience it is today. Starting with the historic Charter of 1212 we will unpick the city’s key stories to give you an overview of York’s last 800 years, covering medieval monasteries, Guy Fawkes, and the industrialisation of the nineteenth century... and beyond.

Every year the Centre for Lifelong Learning offers a fantastic range of short courses; we offer an array of Accredited, and Non-Accredited (Learning for Pleasure) courses as well as Saturday classes and Online, Distance Learning courses.
All of our courses are open to anyone with an interest in the subject covered.
