MA module timetable
All option modules consist of weekly two-hour seminars.
- The Autumn Term timetable will appear here in due course.
Pathway degree students must take at least two of their modules from those designated to the relevant specialism.
A provisional list of the modules the department is hoping to offer in 2012-13 will be available on the admissions pages for the taught MA programme, under the 'Modules' tab, in early 2012.
How modules work
From 2011-12, all new taught MA and pathway degree students will be required to attend a core module in Research Skills and Methods in History of Art. Full-time students will take this module during their Autumn and Spring Terms, while part-time students will take it during their first Autumn Term and second Spring Term.
In addition to this students will choose four optional modules, taking these over the Autumn and Spring terms. The Summer term and summer vacation are devoted to research and writing of the dissertation under the guidance of a supervisor.
Students may take up to two modules from other humanities departments at York and from the interdisciplinary research centres.
Students entering their second year of part-time study in 2011-12 will continue to follow the degree structure outlined in their student handbook.
