UK FROST details

UK FROST is a multi-centre randomised controlled trial with economic evaluation and nested qualitative study comparing early structured physiotherapy versus manipulation under anaesthesia versus arthroscopic capsular release for patients referred to secondary care with a frozen shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis).

The study is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Programme and is being led by Professor Amar Rangan and his team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Trial Sponsor). The study is being co-ordinated by researchers at the Trust, University of York’s Trials Unit, Glasgow Royal Infirmary Orthopaedic Research Unit, and Oxford’s Surgical Intervention Trials Unit. We are also grateful for the support of our two patient representatives, Daniel Powell and Linda Murray.
