Luis's PhD will explore the cost and consequences of unplanned adolescent pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections at the primary care level in Mexico

Research

Overview

Luis has a personal interest in Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) since he was a former state leader of the Family Planning and Contraception Programme in Mexico. Nowadays, due to the current situation of high rates and prevalence of adolescent pregnancies in his country, he has been focused more on the above subject. Another personal interest is to study the efficiency of SRH services provided by healthcare workers in different countries.

  • Speaker at the first Maternal and Perinatal Care Conference of the Ministry of Health of Sonora with the lecture "Post-obstetric Event Contraception" in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico
  • Speaker at the Maternal Death Prevention Congress of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS by its Spanish acronym) with the conference “Family Planning in Women with High Reproductive Risk” in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
  • Speaker in the first State Forum of New-born’s Maternal Care with the conference “Preconceptional Care, Family Planning, and Responsible Parenthood” in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
