Biography

Izzy joined York Trials Unit as a Trial support officer in May 2023.  Prior to joining YTU, Izzy worked at York Council as a Health Trainer supporting people to make health behaviour changes in areas such as weight management and smoking cessation.

Qualifications

  • MSc Sport and Exercise Psychology (Sheffield Hallam University, 2018)
  • BSc Psychology (University of Sheffield, 2017)

Projects

  • OPAL2 - A multi-centre RCT comparing the OPAL occupational support programme with usual care on the time to return-to-work in patients undergoing elective hip or knee replacement surgery.
  • SAVINGS - an RCT assessing the effects of very brief smoking cessation advice delivered by financial guidance services to adults receiving support for financial difficulties
