Profile
Biography
Grace joined the York Trials Unit as a Trial Coordinator in 2019, coming from a background in Sport Science with four years lecturing experience in human anatomy, biomechanics and physiology at the University of Hull. She completed her PhD in 2019 looking into the effects of exercise as rehabilitation following a traumatic brain injury. Grace has previous experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and previously worked on a trial assessing patient acceptability of a novel prosthetic device (STEPFORWARD). She is currently working on two projects; PROximal Fracture of the Humerus: Evaluation by Randomisation Trial no. 2 (PROFHER-2 Trial) and Articular Pilon Fracture Trial (ACTIVE).

Research
Overview
Research interests include exercise interventions within clinical populations, exercise prescriptions, biomechanics in both healthy and clinical populations.
Projects
- ACTIVE - Articular Pilon Fracture Trial
- DIAMONDS - An RCT of the DIAMONDS Programme investigating the clinical and cost-effectiveness of the DIAMONDS intervention (diabetes self-management programme) for people with severe mental illnesses (SMI) and type 2 diabetes
- FARSTER-Care - An RCT investigating whether, following cardiac surgery with full median sternotomy, an accelerated cardiac rehabilitation pathway will lead to improved patient outcomes and is cost effective compared to the usual timing of cardiac rehabilitation.
- PROFHER 2 - PROximal Fracture of the Humerus: Evaluation by Randomisation Trial no. 2
