Restart a Heart Day 2016

Posted on 17 October 2016

Students and staff from Health Sciences help teach others how to 'restart a heart'.

Jess Powell, a lecturer in adult nursing in the Department of Health Sciences, has been working with students to promote Restart a Heart Day 2016.

Along with students Zara Mosley, Megan Cook and Adam Woodall, Jess will be going into schools to teach school children the basics of resuscitation. The aim is to equip as many school age children as possible with basic life saving skills. Trainee nurses like Zara, Megan and Adam, will be working alongside other health professionals to pass on the vital skills they have learnt as part of their course.

Restart a Heart Day is an initiative led by the Resuscitation Council and will take place on Tuesday, 18 October.
