Unwarranted variations in health care performance across Europe: Lessons from the ECHO Project

Posted on 26 February 2015

Researchers from the University of York (Karen Bloor, Nils Gutacker, Richard Cookson and Alan Maynard) have been involved in an EU funded project, the 'European Collaboration for Healthcare Optimisation' (ECHO).

As part of this project, the researchers aimed to bring together healthcare data from six European countries, make it comparable, and assess variations in access to and quality of care. Some of the results of the project are available in a new special issue of the European Journal of Public Health (http://eurpub.oxfordjournals.org/content/25/suppl_1).
