Compassion, Co-operation and Competence in Care - Nurse Education at the University of York

The aim of the event is to explore co-operative approaches to education which facilitate the development of compassionate and competent nurses.  The conference provides an opportunity for all partners to contribute to the development of undergraduate nursing programmes which meet current and future client/workforce needs.

Speakers include:

  • Internationally-renowned author and consultant, Etienne Wenger

  • Professor Andree le May, who has written extensively on communities of practice within nursing

This event is likely to be of interest to:

  • staff from higher and further education providers
  • practitioners, managers and mentors in the NHS, independent and voluntary sector
  • service users and carers
  • pre-registration nursing students
