Introduction to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

A one day study day aimed at nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, midwives, social care workers and allied health professionals.

The day is designed to provide healthcare professionals with evidence-based, up to date information about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and a general understanding of practical skills involved in COPD management.

The day will include:

  • anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system
  • the pathophysiology of COPD, prevalence and burden of the disease
  • the use of spiromentry in COPD diagnosis and management
  • practical spirometry
  • treatment overview, inhalers and nebulisers.
