Research links with other departments
There are many University academic departments and research centres at York concerned with teaching and research in health and public policy.
The Department has strong links with departments and research units such as the Centre for Health Economics, the Centre for Reviews and Dissemination, the Department of Social Policy and Social Work and the York Management School. There are also good international and national links with other universities, research centres and health service organisations.
The Hull York Medical School (HYMS) was established by the Universities of Hull and York, providing an innovative programme of study, with rural and urban contrasts, a strong emphasis on community-based medicine, a focus on evidence-based treatments, and the teaching of communications and management skills.
The Yorkshire and Humber Public Health Observatory is based on campus, providing access to public health data and services for analysis and advice.
