A joint venture between the Department of Biology and The Hull York Medical School
Posted on 6 June 2012

On May 30, several images taken by CII staff were among the 60 displayed on a large plasma screen in centre city. At our stand the public was invited to discuss the power of imaging for research and to experience this themselves with three different types of microscopes. All ages were encouraged to test and expand their knowledge of infection and immunology by playing the ever popular Fishing for Pathogens and the Good Bugs Bad Bugs games with CII staff and students.
The launch event was featured on BBC Look North, which used the image generated by Amy Sawtell from the TF and the public’s interaction with microscopy and Jo Marrison from the TF as the visual support for their report. The 60 images will be displayed at different points throughout centre city for the entire the summer.
