BIHR will be supporting civil society at the UK's Universal Periodic Review at the United Nations

Wednesday 6 April 2016, 10.45AM to 17.00

As part of our UPR Project, BIHR is coming to York to provide civil society organisations in the North East, the North West, Yorkshire and the Humber and the surrounding areas with an opportunity to:

•Learn more about the relevance of human rights to your work;
•Understand the UPR process and the important role your organisation can have in submitting evidence;
•Review the UK’s progress on recommendations made at the last UPR (in 2012); and
•Identify key new human rights issues in the UK which the UN should review.

The aim of the events is to build the capacity of civil society groups to better understand and engage with the UPR and to gather views which can feed into BIHR’s Shadow Civil Society Report for the UN to consider when examining the UK.
