Geetha Lakmini Fernando discusses issues behind land grabbing in Sri Lanka, and what civil society organisations and grassroots movements can do to counteract current trends in land grabbing. She addresses the question of what land grabbing means for people socially, culturally and in terms of losing their livelihoods.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

This talk is part of CAHR's Learning from HRDs lecture series where visiting human rights defenders from across the world discuss current human rights issues they face in their work.
