To advise on strategy, policies and funding to meet the information, library and computing needs in order to fulfil the University's World-class objectives in teaching, research, administration and business & community.
To consider any issues raised by the PVC (Learning & Teaching) pertaining to the total budget as set by Planning Committee and the allocations to the Library & IT Services and their annual budgets.
To monitor the performance of information, library and computing services in meeting the objectives of the University.
To consider any strategic issues identified by its sub-committees (Library Committee, University Computing Committee, Archives and Records Management Group, Strategic Information Projects Implementation Group and Web Committee) and other University Committees as required.
To ensure the Group, its sub-Committees, and the service departments for which it is responsible, take account of equality of opportunity in their work.
To consider all relevant matters referred to it by University Committees.
