Support

Our network of support services is here to help you make the most of your time at York.

Academic support

Your personal academic supervisor will often be your first point of contact for any academic issues. They are here to help you progress successfully through your studies, whether you need assistance with an assignment, or advice on module choices. We also have an Academic Skills Community, who can help you improve your writing, maths or data analysis through workshops or one-to-one appointments.

Careers

If you're wondering what to do after university, or are looking to gain some work experience, our Careers and Placements team is on hand to help with interview preparation, career advice and improving your CV.

Here to listen

When it comes to managing the transition to university life, your college team are always there. Made up of a dedicated group of staff and students, they're here to help you with homesickness, making friends, or can just be around for a chat. If you're experiencing more serious mental health difficulties while at university, you can get support from Open Door, a team of mental health practitioners and student wellbeing officers.

No matter what problem you are facing, there's always someone here who can make it easier.

There are so many ways to access support at the University of York. Whether it be through college advisors, academic support services, your personal supervisor or disability services, someone will always be there to help you if needed!
