Mr Paul Ryan

Profile

Biography

After completing a BSc in Media Technology I went on to work in live broadcasting, working professionally in a variety of roles. In 2014 I completed an MSc in Postproduction specialising in visual effects, with a dissertation examining workflows for combining live action and CGI in virtual reality film. I have worked in the department since 2008 in a technical and teaching role. As part of this I have advised and consulted on workflows for film and television projects for the BBC, Channel 5, Al Jazeera and Goldfinch Studios.  I started as a lecturer in Screen Production and Postproduction in 2017 and specialise in multi-camera studio production, post production, editing, media technology and I also have experience in sound for live production and post production.

I am currently researching new forms of production technology and the changing state of broadcasting workflows, creativity in teaching and learning in higher education.
