Honorary Degree for Charles Gurassa

The Department of Theatre, Film and Television is delighted that Charles Gurassa has been awarded an Honorary Degree.

Charles Gurassa, Chairman of the television station Channel 4, has received an honorary degree at our summer graduation.

After receiving the award, Charles visited the department and met with TFTV`s Head of Department Prof Andrew Higson (photo, left with Charles Gurassa) and both the Programme heads of Film and TV Production, Ed Braman, and Interactive Media, Prof Marian Ursu. He was very impressed with the facilities and student work showcased.

Charles, who graduated from Economics at the University of York, has an outstanding career in the tourism industry (Thomas Cook, British Airways, Thompson) and more recently the creative and media industries including chair to Virgin Mobile, Lovefilm and Channel 4.
