The Department of Theatre, Film and Television is located on the Heslington East campus of the University of York. The Department is easily accessible by public transport with both a taxi pick-up point and bus stop next to the building.
Follow the outer ring road (A64 north) to the junction with the Hull/Bridlington roads (A1079/A166). Turn off at the exit marked University and follow the signs towards the city centre. Access to Heslington East Campus is via the Hull Road Grimston Bar Park and Ride entrance on the left. Proceed straight on at the roundabout past the Park and Ride entrance and York Sports Village on the left, at the mini roundabout continue straight on, arriving at the first of two pay and display car parks Kimberlow Lane and Field Lane. Parking is charged at a rate of £1 per hour or £6 per day, and is free at weekends and between 6pm and 8am.
Follow University Road towards Heslington Hall. Turn left onto Field Lane and follow the road past St Paul's Church, going straight ahead at the traffic lights. Continue to the next roundabout and head for the A1079 Hull Road turning right at the roundabout, passing a petrol station and B&Q on the left. At the traffic lights take the far right hand land, and then the right hand slip lane to Grimston Bar Park and Ride.
For satnav users, we recommend using YO10 5GY which will take you via the Grimston Bar Park and Ride; vehicle access to Heslington East and onto Kimberlow Lane pay and display car park.
Limited parking is available on the Heslington East campus in the Kimberlow and Field Lane pay and display car parks. If parking is unavailable in Kimberlow Lane or Field Lane car parks visitors are advised to park on the Heslington West campus and use the free shuttle bus service to reach Heslington East. Parking is charged at a rate of £1 per hour or £6 per day, and is free at weekends and between 6pm and 8am.

There are buses from the city centre approximately every 5 minutes during the day, and it takes around 20 minutes to reach the campus.
The UoY66 service starts from Heslington East running through campus and stopping at the railway station and in the city centre. The UoY56 provides an hourly service from Heslington East through the campus to King's Manor in the city centre via the the railway station and popular student areas of the city.
The 44 runs every few minutes between the University and York rail station. The 4 provides a regular service between the station and Heslington East, via the popular student areas of Osbaldwick and Layerthorpe.
The ub.1 is a dedicated free shuttle bus service for travel around the Heslington campus during term-time. The UoY66, UoY56 and 44 also provide free travel around the Heslington campus.

Heslington East is half a mile (800m) from Heslington Hall along the shared walking/cycle route to Field Lane. Cycle racks are provided across the campus.
