The award, from the Guild of Television Camera Professionals (GTC), acknowledges excellent teaching of camerawork and craft skills within UK educational establishments. It is awarded to the institution with the highest scoring portfolio of films.
TFTI students submitted three films for the 2020 awards, two of which; Bence Kandar’s Monkey’s Blood, and Jacob Crow’s I Stand for Us, made it to the eight-film shortlist. Their combined highest scores secured the trophy for an unprecedented second time.
Accepting the award, Head of Department Professor Duncan Petrie said: “I’m absolutely delighted that we’ve received the trophy for the second time and I want to pay tribute to the students whose wonderful work has led to this brilliant result.”
