Ed Gammie with Oscar and BAFTA for Interstellar

Ed's career is going quite well...

He graduated from the BSc in Film and Television Production in 2013. Six months later (after a few short term contracts in TV) he started as a trainee/runner at Double Negative (a major post-production facility in London), training to be a 2D Visual Effects Designer. The training involved working on shots from existing movies like Harry Potter, Skyfall and Thor 2; then he started working on new movies, including Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings, for which he received his first big screen credit as a Digital Artist.

He left Double Negative in July 2015 to move to Industrial Light and Magic (another major post-production facility in London) - and so started working for the company that invented CGI dinosaurs...

Now time for a confession: the photo shows him when he was still at Double Negative, posing with the Oscar and BAFTA won by the visual effects team for Interstellar - which Ed didn't actually work on.

But he did work on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is nominated for both an Oscar and BAFTA this year, and on Ant Man and Avengers: Age of Ultron which made the short list last month. So maybe the next photo of Ed we post will be with his own awards...
