Rosy Deacon wins Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award

Rosy Deacon, a Department of Theatre, Film and Television student who graduated from the BSc this summer with a First, has gone and won the Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award for which she had been shortlisted for her TV drama Shards (which she developed this year on the Individual Project: Scriptwriting module).

This is exciting news for her, and for the department.  She wins a cash prize and will receive the Award in New York at the International Emmy World TV Festival.

Rosie writes: "Just wanted to let you know that I've won the 2013 Sir Peter Ustinov Television Scriptwriting Award!  I cannot believe it and I'm over the moon.  Thanks again for all your help with the script at York.  As the winner I'll be going to New York for the International Emmy World Television Festival where they will perform a read-through of the script and I'll be presented with the award, along with $2,500."
