Student wins short film award

One of our students has won a prestigious award for his short film.

BSc Film and Television Production student Danny Carter has won the Best Amateur Short Film award in the G-Technology 'Driven Creativity' competition. The First Night tells the moving story of an old lady whose husband has just died. Danny was helped by fellow students Oliver Hadlow-Martin (cinematography), Sara Trzupek (editing) and Jules Meskauskaite (line producer/1st AD). The film won from a field of 1,100 entries.

The Driven Creativity Competition ran from 20th June to 24th September 2012, and was open to amateur and professional photographers, filmmakers, animators and musicians in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden and Russia.
