First Annual Postgraduate Symposium 2010

Posted on 4 June 2010

The Department of Theatre, Film and Television at the University of York had its first annual postgraduate symposium on Friday 4 June 2010.

The event will seek to encourage a wide array of research interests, and to incorporate interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary approaches to theatre, film and television.

The day will be capped by a plenary panel consisting of three early career researchers, Dr. Alison Peirse (University of Northumbria), Dr. Torsten Reimer (King’s College London) and the Theatre Film and Television Department’s own Dr. Varsha Panjwani (University of York).

Each of these researchers represents a different strand of the interests of the Theatre, Film and Television department. In addition to their academic pursuits, these speakers will discuss the transition from postgraduate student to professional academic. As such, the symposium will also serve as a development opportunity for postgraduates, allowing them to discuss the next stage of their careers.
