Two day symposium on the subject of the role of film schools and developments in education and training practices and policy in the UK

On the 16 and 17 of October a two day symposium on the subject of the role of film schools and developments in education and training practices and policy in the UK and internationally was organised by Professor Duncan Petrie of the department of Theatre, Film and Television.

This event was attended by an invited group of senior academics with experience in film education and policy and various members of TFTV. It provided an extremely productive start to a project being developed by Professor Petrie in collaboration with Rod Stoneman, Director of the Huston School of Film and Digital Media at the National University of Ireland in Galway and Professor Mette Hjort, Chair of Visual Studies at Lingnan University in Hong Kong, as well as forging valuable connections for the department which is developing its own programmes in film and television production.
