Stories from the Cocoa City - A triple bill of original plays telling the true stories of those who worked in York's chocolate industry

Stories from the Cocoa City

Thursday 16 May 2013, 7.30PM

Do you like chocolate? Yes. Do you love chocolate? Yes. But do you know chocolate...?

Founded in our own city, Rowntree's and Terry's have moulded our society's relationship with confectionary, creating the memorable brands of Aero, Polo, Kitkat and of course the Terry's Chocolate Orange that are as iconic and popular now as when they were developed. Together they have been supporting the community for over a century, through two world wars and countless generations.

Next week the Department of Theatre, Film and Television BA 2nd year Writing, Directing and Performance students at the University of York present an exciting evening of original plays, created from the true stories and real lives of the people who worked in both factories, to celebrate the legacy that they have created.

Performances will take place on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th May (Week 4).

Doors open at  7.15pm
