Is Gender Equality a Reality at University?

  • Date and time: Tuesday 26 February 2019, 6.30pm to 8.00pm
  • Location: Holbeck Cinema (TFTV/116)

Event details

A panel debate hosted by Supporting Women in Engineering at York (SWEY) on how SWEY as a student body should improve university life by allowing true equality for everyone with the capacity for free speech and allowing differing views without hate.

Supporting Women in Engineering at York (SWEY) is a cross-departmental initiative, set up initially by the Departments of Electronics and Computer Science, to try and address the gender imbalance within engineering. We aim to encourage, support, connect and inspire female engineering students, as well as helping to inspire more young women to consider engineering at university and as a career. Membership is open to anyone who calls themselves an engineer (usually from a STEM subject background but not exclusively), and to anyone of any gender.

Admission: FREE tickets available online.
