We’ve compiled the most helpful resources from across our web pages so you can find everything you need about job hunting in your final year.

Job search

As well as searching job sites, you can find vacancies through your network, by sending speculative applications and by using recruitment agencies. Find out more on these pages:

  • Graduate jobs overview: find out where and how to search for graduate jobs
  • Job hunting toolkit: myth busting, advice on when to apply and where to look
  • Job sectors: check the 'Finding jobs' box on each sector page for industry-specific job sites you can search
  • Networking: tips on how to build your network to help you tap into the hidden job market
  • An introduction to labour market information: find out how understanding what’s happen in the job market can help you find a job and market yourself to potential employers
  • International work: information about how, where and when to apply for jobs outside the UK
  • Get work experience: if you think you need more experience before applying for the graduate job you want, final year is not too late.

Universal Credit

If you have finished university and you are unemployed you could be eligible for Universal Credit. Even if you’ve moved back in with your parents or guardians you could still apply; Universal Credit is not based on what other people in your household earn. For more information about applying for Universal Credit as a recent graduate, read the advice from Save the Student.
