‌York Children's University

York Children’s University project volunteers inspire primary school pupils in the world of work, alongside major employers from the City of York.

Projects for this year include:

Enterprise with John Lewis

Design exciting enterprise workshops and a pop up shop challenge for pupils to learn the basics of business, and go on a trip behind the scenes at John Lewis.

Retail with York Designer Outlet

You will provide pupils with the opportunity to design their own shop through introducing topics such as shop design & layout, customer service, sales & marketing. The module will culminate in a trip to the York Designer Outlet where pupils have the opportunity pitch their plans to a panel of professionals.

Transport Yourself with Northern

Deliver workshops around travel and transport, supported by Northern. This module does so much more than take children on the trains – you have the opportunity to inspire and excite children about travel and adventure, and link real life with learning.

Who is York CU?

Who is York Children's University?

It is  part of a national scheme to raise aspirations, foster a love of learning and build confidence in young people.
