York Mathematical Excellence Club (y=mx+c)

University of York student coaches support gifted and talented young mathematicians from across the City of York through y=mx+c. Applications open in the Autumn term.

The club meets once a half term at the University of York and is led by the Independent States Schools Partnership for gifted and talented pupils, with student mentors from the University of York. As a coach you will support Y8 and Y9 pupils (13-14 year olds) on a series of maths problems and puzzles, and talk about mathematical topics that aren’t in the usual maths curriculum (e.g. encryption, fallacies, computer graphics, etc.)
