Talk to a York Student scheme

The Talk to a York Student scheme enables prospective international students to have contact with a current York student with an international background. They can ask questions and find out more about student life at York.

Please note that the Talk to a York Student scheme is a voluntary scheme. More information for paid student work is displayed on the Careers Gateway.

Why should I take part?

Choosing to study overseas is a big decision. The Student Recruitment & Admissions Office can help answer many questions, but sometimes a prospective student wants to be able to talk to someone who knows what it’s really like to be an international student at York. You can be a real help to these students: by sharing your experiences of York you can help them make an informed decision about where to study.

How can I get involved?

You can get involved at any time - there is no deadline to apply.
