Gain great work experience after your exams and make a difference.

Community organisations are looking for teams of students to develop events, workshops, films or research for them.

For each project you will work together to deliver the project by the end of the summer term. We will support you with training and advice and project key dates will work around exam times.

Examples of previous projects include:

Explore Libraries: mischief makers activities project 

Design and create family activity boxes on a budget to encourage 5-11 year olds to read more! 

Mansion House: family event planning project 

Explore the portraits held in the house and design an interactive activity that reveals the real life narratives behind them!  

National Trust: Beningbrough Hall video project 

Research the lives of the laundry servants who worked at Beningbrough Hall to storyboard and produce an engaging video on this exhibition.

 York Archives: archiving and exhibition planning project 

Develop and create an annual programme of historical visitors exhibitions to feature in a display case. 

York Museums Trust: Roman festival storytelling project 

Investigate the history of Romans in York and deliver a storytelling event as part of the city's Roman festival in June. 

St Nicks: digital marketing project 

Storyboard and produce a promotional video that advertises St Nick's kerbside recycling scheme!  

Human Rights Workshops 

Inspire young people in York to action around Human Rights. Research case studies and work with York Human Rights Network to deliver two workshops. 

 Travel and Sustainability primary school project 

Inspire young people to think about the future of travel and go behind the scenes at Arriva Rail North. 

Marketing and Retail primary school project 

Share the principles of marketing with pupils and help them design their own shops to pitch to retail executives! 

National Trust: learning outside the classroom project 

Deliver an extracurricular educational programme revolving around the history of Beningbrough Hall!

Project DARE: coaching project 

Help facilitate activities led by teachers or employers, acting as a role model and sounding board for groups of secondary school pupils.
