Coronavirus: update summary

Free food and drink
If you are using campus facilities, you should get tested regularly (twice a week, three days apart). As an added incentive, you can take two completed testing cards (from the same week) - or your two email confirmations if you’re testing at home - to one of our participating outlets on campus to claim a free YORCUP, five free drinks and one free main meal.

Help with Covid-19 vaccination clinics
Volunteer to help with Covid-19 Vaccination Clinics at The Priory Pharmacy, Acomb. They are due to start in May, initially on Saturday afternoons, but with possible expansion to Sundays. Find out more and register.

1. Book study spaces on campus

There are currently several hundred socially-distanced single study spaces available to book across the Library and other University buildings and you can book up to three days in advance. Please be considerate and remember to cancel your booking if you change your mind.

2. Secrets to successful sleep

Struggling to sleep? Read our tips for getting a good night’s sleep and come along to our online workshop this Thursday (22 April) where our college tutors will provide guidance and share some practical techniques to help improve your sleep. Book your place at the sleep workshop.

3. Funding for personal and professional development

Seen a development opportunity but need funding to realise it? The York Futures Scholarship provides funding of up to £3,000 for work experience, study abroad, placements, and extracurricular learning opportunities. All students can apply, though preference is given to students from certain backgrounds - check the eligibility criteria. Application deadline: Monday 26 April. 4. Get help in setting up a business

Do you have a business or social enterprise idea? Apply for the Summer Accelerator and spend your summer working on launching your business with the support of the University. If accepted, you will receive a living allowance of £1,500, use of a workspace for eight weeks and access to specialist support. Find out more and register for the Summer Accelerator information evening on Wednesday 21 April.

5. Get involved with sustainability

View real-world implementation of sustainability in the workplace and build new skills in communications, analysis and teamwork by learning how to conduct virtual sustainability audits within University departments. Register for our free one-day IEMA-approved sustainability auditor training on Wednesday 28 April. No experience needed. Find out more and register.
