Module aims
To provide an introduction to Ancient Philosophy by focussing on Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics
Module learning outcomes
By the end of the module student will:
- be able to critically engage with, evaluate and criticise passages from Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics
- develop reasoned views as to what Aristotle's arguments are and to engage critically with the arguments they find.
- develop skills in reading, interpreting, and responding to primary texts in philosophy
- develop a grasp of some key issues in philosophy
- develop the ability to engage in philosophical discussion with others
