Module aims

  • To further develop production skills, in a way tailored to individual students interests and aspirations.
  • To found a self-motivated and self/peer-reflective approach to development and improvement of skills and knowledge.
  • To encourage the conception, planning and execution of projects that make the best use of available resources to achieve a desired outcome.
  • To enable students to build a body of work that best represents their skills, understanding and interests.

Module learning outcomes

Subject Content:

  • Students should have a portfolio of work that demonstrates professional competence in production.
  • Students should be able to identify and acquire relevant new skills and knowledge in order to adapt to new tasks and modes of working.
  • Students should be able to conceive, plan and execute their own recording projects whilst ensuring a sufficient level of challenge.
  • Students should be able to present their work to peers and teaching staff, and to articulate its aims and objectives.
  • Students should be able to form expressible and useful descriptions and opinions of audio production artefacts in informal discussion fora as well as in more formal written responses.
  • Students should have an awareness of their own skills and how they relate to their aspirations, applicable to career planning and further skills development.
