This module uses a coaching module where you will work with an appropriate member of academic staff to identify and area of focus that you will support you in developing your own professional practice.

Working in conjunction with an academic coach you will identify an area of focus that will support you in developing your own professional practice.
Work independently and autonomously to either create innovative solutions to practice based problems or to subject a contentious health-related topic to critical analysis.
Demonstrate strategic thinking as well as operational know how to interpret, analyse and present highly complex data and information related to your identified topic
Demonstrate application of an extensive knowledge of the current health and social care policy relevant to your selected topic or field of practice
Critically analyse influences on professional practice or ideology including research, legislation and governance.

Formative Assessment
You will develop a learning contract with your academic coach which will detail your subject of enquiry and learning opportunities and how you will achieve the learning outcomes and set a timeframe for formative feedback on a plan for your critical reflection.
Summative Assessment
You will present your learning throughout this module focusing on your subject of enquiry. You may choose to focus on the outcome of your enquiry/project or take an element that you wish to explore in detail. This presentation will take 20 minutes (+/- 10 %) with an additional 10 minutes for questions from the academic marker.
You will support this presentation with a critical reflection of your learning throughout the module. This will be weighted at 50% of the module with the presentation and via at 50%. Both must be passed and there is no compensation available.
Written feedback provided to student by marker in accordance with department policy.
