Module aims

Identify and review the student's personal learning needs in relation to NMC Standards for Pre-registration Nursing Annexe Three third progression point Essential Skills Cluster: Organisational Aspects of Care 16, 17, 18, 19 to assist their practice development as a leader in health and social care delivery. Students will work in partnership with clients, carers, other professionals and other agencies with support from their mentor to achieve competence in relation to the agreed NMC competencies and essential skills clusters for Stage Three. Students will undertake the Department of Health Sciences accredited First Aid course as part of this module.

Module learning outcomes

This module will enable the student to identify and meet their learning needs in relation to:

  1. Acting to resolve issues of skill mix and their impact on safety.
  2. Managing complaints, compliments and comments to improve care.
  3. Negotiation and conflict resolution.
  4. Basic First Aid.

  • Verbal feedback and certification will be given on the day of the First Aid Workshop.
  • Verbal and written evidence of achievement within their Electronic Ongoing Assessment Record will be completed by the mentor.
