Module summary
This module looks at a range of clinical psychological conditions, ranging from brain injuries, to personality disorders, and mental health conditions. Treatment, interventions, and diagnosis of these conditions will be discussed, alongside issues surrounding these conditions, such as difficulties with diagnosis. How these conditions impact cognition, behaviour, and the lives of individuals will be considered. Research methods, and examples of research in the field of clinical psychology will be presented, alongside the different approaches within Psychology.

Module aims
- Introduce Clinical Psychology, including conditions, diagnoses and treatments.
- Introduce different therapies and interventions
- Introduce some research methods for researching within Clinical Psychology
Module learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the module, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of a range of clinical conditions, and their appropriate tools for diagnosis and treatment
- Demonstrate knowledge of some research methods used in clinical psychology
- Demonstrate the ability to discuss evidence surrounding the effectiveness of therapies and interventions.
