Transferable skills

It is important that you make the most of your time at York and take up opportunities to develop transferable skills such as giving a presentation, working in a group, or managing a project.  Many of these skills are necessary for your studies and they are also valued by employers.  Careers can support you in developing your employability.

Other development opportunities

Transferable skills can be developed through a range of activities so it is important that you start to think about this early on. The Employability Tutorial, accessed via Yorkshare, can help you with this process.

Careers can help you get involved in extra-curricular activities that will give you an edge in whatever you choose to do after you graduate. See further information on developing your skills and experience and how you can make the most of your time.
