Did You Know: Michigan's claims to fame

Our Centre for Global Programmes runs International Study Centres, short summer courses abroad which add an international experience to your degree.

A growing university

MSU was established as an agricultural college in 1855. Today it has over 50,000 students studying subjects from anthropology to zoology.

Go Green!

Though normally heard on the football field, the cry could just as easily apply to MSU's environmental credentials. It's home to the country's first endowed chair in environmental journalism, a solar car racing team, and a student-run organic farm.

Chicago

This year's International Study Centre features a weekend in Chicago. On the shores of Lake Michigan, the Windy City boasts 26 miles of waterfront, 15 miles of bathing beaches, 552 parks, more than 7,300 restaurants and over 200 art galleries.

Global impact

From East Lansing to East Africa, MSU Spartans push the boundaries of discovery and forge enduring partnerships to solve the world’s most pressing problems, from ensuring safe food and water supplies to developing lifesaving vaccines and exploring alternative energy sources.
